Alfredo Cruz Guzmán, alias El Pelón, de 18 años, pasará el resto de su vida en la cárcel, tras un juicio abreviado que se celebró a menos de un mes de que fuera detenido. De acuerdo con el Supremo Tribunal de Justicia, Cruz Guzmán aceptó todos los cargos que se le imputaban, por lo que no fue necesario abrir un juicio oral en su contra. El Pelón pertenecía a la banda de Los Mochaderos, la cual era liderada por Ericka Patricia Alonso alias La Muñeca, a quienes se les imputan al menos seis secuestros y dos homicidios en esta capital y en Ciudad Aldama. Fueron detenidos el pasado 26 de noviembre cuando elementos de la Fiscalía General del Estado reventaron una casa de seguridad en la que tenían cautivo a un empresario al cual le habían cercenado los dedos meniques para presionar a su familia a pagar el rescate. Junto con ellos se detuvo a dos menores de edad. La Muñeca todavía continúa en proceso.
